The Gurkhas are soldiers from Nepal who are recruited into the British Army, and have been for the last 200 years. The Gurkha Welfare Trust exists to ensure that Gurkha veterans, their widows and their wider communities are able to live with dignity. They achieve this primarily through the provision of financial, medical and community aid in Nepal.
Your fundraising will help fund existing and new WWTW projects aimed at supporting the most vulnerable veterans re-integrate back into society and regain their independence. Funding enables those who are either physically, mentally or socially injured through service rebuild their lives, return to the work place and provide long-term security for themselves and their families. WWTW’s integrated early intervention services address barriers to social inclusion, independence and future employability before they escalate, helping to break the cycle of veterans being a disproportionately high cohort within homeless, police custody, unemployment and mental health statistics.
