Endeavour India - Delhi & Himalayas

Endeavour India:
Contact us for your own bespoke corporate adventure.
Endeavour India is a multi stage race over four consecutive days in the Indian Himalayas, sandwiched within a 10 day adventure of sightseeing and visits to our charities, and immersion in Indian Culture. We can tailor an adventure to suit you, but our Endeavour India race gives a flavour of what can be offered:
From the melee of New Delhi to the colonial majesty of your hotel; the famous Indian railways that will transport you from Delhi to McLeod Ganj where your mountain adventure will begin.
The Itinerary
Day 1 - 27th March 2024

Adventurers arrive at Delhi Airport from various destinations and are met by Race Staff before being transferred to your Hotel.
The rest of the day is free and easy to relax in the splendour of one of Delhi's most historic hotels or to take in some of the sights and sounds of the city's chaotic streets.
An informal cocktail party in the evening at the Hotel will be followed by dinner.

Day 2 - 28th March 2024
Your day starts bright and early with a guided bicycle adventure tour of old Delhi during the morning, topped off with breakfast of steaming hot chai and curry! Certainly, an adrenaline-fuelled ride to heighten the senses...
Visit Shiksha Rath slum academy and a unique tour of the slums. Shiksha Rath, one of our chosen charities, is a highly-focused, long-term initiative providing after-school classes, nutritious meals and health care to some of Delhi's poorest children through a ground-breaking slum academy.
Early evening we check out of your Hotel and head to the Himalayas on the Jammu Rajdhani Express sleeper train.

Day 3 - 29th March 2024
Arrive at Mcleod Ganj and check in to the Hotel. Enjoy a relaxed breakfast, some downtime, and a chance to acclimate to the altitude.
The rest of the day will be spent relaxing, including lunch, an acclimatisation walk....and a little beasting..time to start your altitude acclimatisation.
Evening meal and Q&A Session.

Day 4 - 30th March 2024
Acclimatisation training continues, where we weave a visit and lunch to the Tibetan craft centre and temple with a 500-year-old flame. Then, finally, site seeing around Dharamsala to include the 'Adrenalin Challenge.'...after all, this is an Endeavour event!

Day 5 - 31st March 2024
The start of the Indian Endeavour – bike and trek from Mcleod Ganj (Dalai Lama's residence) at 2,080m to your first RV (1) at 2,200m, about a 14 km route.
The trek goes through the pine forests and passes several tribal villages. As well as significant ascent over the day, the route includes physical and mental challenges to test the spirit.
Overnight camp along the Himalayan snow-fed River Liyund. This is near a village that is the native home of the Gaddi shepherd tribes of Dhouladhair Himalayas, who will be our porters and muleteers.
A selection of tasty Endeavour challenges.

Day 6 - 1st April 2024
RV1 (2,200m) to RV2, Kareri Lake (3,048m) steep uphill run along the Liyund river.
The trail goes through a mixed forest of oak, rhododendron and pine, with steep ascents along the river with several challenges and 'treats' along the way.
Activities at Kareri Lake to include briefing, beasting and training for Day 3 ascent.

Day 7 - 2nd April 2024
RV2 Kareri Lake (3,048m) to RV3 Minikiani Pass (4,268m) or RV4 Moon Peak (4,632m).
This section will be a challenging ascent towards either the Minkiani Pass or Moon Peak using specialist equipment at high altitudes.
After reaching the summit (conditions permitting), competitors will return to the campsite at Kareri Lake or the other side of Moon Peak.
The ascent on Day 3 of the race is an untimed section of the adventure, due to the risks of altitude sickness.

Day 8 - 3rd April 2024
From RV2 Kareri Lake, adventurers will 'enjoy' a knee-jarring descent from the snow fields and through woodlands towards Bugga Valley and past several villages ending back at the Dalai Lama's residence after a very testing 23km steep descent.
Evening Gala Dinner and awards ceremony.

Day 9 - 4th April 2024
Time to relax and chat and enjoy the serenity of McLeod Ganj, before returning to Delhi with an internal flight from Dharmsala to Delhi.
Return to your Hotel's splendour, relax by the pool, or venture into the streets of Delhi.

Day 10 - 5th April 2024
With a full day in Delhi, enjoy relaxing at your Hotel, and further sightseeing in Delhi, which can include the Jama Masjid mosque of Old Delhi or the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara.
Farewell evening dinner.

Day 11 - 6th April 2024
Flights home at various times during the day, enjoying Hotel until departure.
Why is Endeavour India different from other adventure races? Perhaps it can be described as a “cake” of adventure:
‘Mix your ingredients of expert race planners, local knowledge, beautiful terrain and the wonder of India. Season the mix with mental and physical team building, beasting and survival training. Then turn up the heat, to create a four day adventure race with a theme that Indiana Jones and Lara Croft would be envious of. Serve with all the trimmings of the Raj and the spirit of Dalai Lama.’
